Screen Resolution shrinks on startup or waking up

by: gravteck250

Rating8.6Very Good

I'm not sure exactly when it started happening. I have Windows XP Pro, and I have a Dell Laptop w/ nvidia geforce4 integrated. Whenever I start my computer up or have it wake up from sleep. My screen shrinks to about half it's size and centers itself in the screen with a black border surrounding it that the mouse can't travel on. I have the resolution set at 1280 x 1024. I have the latest nvidia drivers installed. Sometimes a message pops up that I don't have the optimal screen resolution 1600 x 1200. When I have it on this setting, nothing happens. So essentially the screen is going to 1600 x 1200, w/ the 1280 x 1024 scaled within it, but outside of that contains nothing but inaccessible black space. So yea, I'm lost.... thanks.
